This Advent Calendar is made from a mini muffin tin. The number cards have magnets on the back so it is reusable. The cost to make one is $10. I need to have enough pans on hand so please sign up right away for this class. You may make more than one. They are really fast and easy to make! Please bring your own adhesive.

The coffee club meets about every other month at my house during a weekday at about 10am. We make one 3-d item and 2 cards. All club members place a $30 order and take turns as the hostess. New Catalog Open House

If you do not get one in the mail it is because I do not have your mailing address. Just send me an email. The Open House is on Monday June 28th at 6:30 at my house. If you were a hostess with the last catalog you can come early at 6:00. I will have the new catalogs (hopefully) for $5 and I will also have my retired stamps and accessories for sale. Butterfly Mother Daughter Class

Stampin'Up! is coming to Milwaukee!!

I can hardly wait! This will be my 4th Stampin'Up! event I've attended in Wisconsin. A group of demonstrators and I will be going together in April. I think SU! finally caught on that coming to WI in the spring is much better than the winter:) Registration for this event is coming really fast and is for Demonstrators only. That's right it's my Stampin'Up! anniversary. Eight years ago I signed up to be a demonstrator. Of course I signed up during Stampin'Up!'s Sell-a-bration special. I spent some time this morning looking at projects I made for one of my first stamp camps! Wow! How far I have come ;) Looking at my stamping room I thought about how I started with nothing but the starter kit and now look how many stamps I have! Of course I never would have been able to afford any of it with out the $$ I have earned as a Demonstrator plus my discount. So for that I thank you all!!

In honor of my anniversary I would like to invite anyone who is even just a little curious to my Demonstrator Open House. Other Demonstrators and I will be talking about how being a demonstrator fits into our lives and answering questions. It is the perfect opportunity to find out what it is all about. Of course we will also be making some projects. It will be a very relaxed group. Now is the perfect time to sign up with all of the specials going on. Not to mention I also give a Big Shot Die cutting machine to all my new demonstrators. The get together is on Friday Feb. 19th at 6:30pm. If you are interested in attending please send me an email. All attendees will be getting a care package so I need an RSVP.

I've been hiding!

Everyone has been asking me where I've been! Well, as soon as I got my new products I locked myself in my stamping room! I've been having a blast playing with my clear mount stamps! I went over board ordering new stuff from the mini catalog and I am loving the Sale-a-bration sets this year! So I've decided it's time to share my new products ;)

I made the card above with a fun new stamp set from the mini catalog called Totelly Tess. She can be dressed to look like a Stampin'Up! demonstrator. How cute is that?! I will also be sharing some of my other creations later this week including the projects we will be making at this month's stamp camp. Which happens to be this weekend already.

The welcome sign is $6, the Memo Clipboard is $8, the trivet or hot plate is $5, the post-it note holder is $5, the photo cube is $5, the Birthday Rolodex is $12. Friends and family love homemade gifts so I am setting up the shop so you can come and make as many as you want. These gifts make nice teacher or co-worker gifts as well. Sept Scrapbooking class

Make these 12x12 scrapbook pages at my Sept. Scrapbooking classes. There are 3 two page layouts for a total of 6 pages. All of the pieces will be cut and ready for you to stamp and assemble. It is $18 for all and please bring your favorite adhesive. Registration for this class ends Friday Sept.25th. I am adding another night for this class due to demand ;) So this class will be on Monday Sept. 28th at 6pm and again on Tuesday Sept. 29th at 6pm. I will also continue to sell packets to those who can not attend however it is quite a bit of extra work for me so I am charging $20 for packets. If you sign up and can not attend, I ask that you buy the kit and assemble on your own. I have not had a problem with people signing up and not coming but if I do I may have to go to prepay for registration. I think I am about the only demonstrator that does not require a prepay and I would like to keep it that way ;) Oh one more thing, I will also bring my baseball set for you to use instead of football for those who prefer.

I am offering a few different Clubs this year! Here is what I've come up with:

Beginners Club

-learn how to use tools and products

-learn tips and tricks

-make 2 cards and 1 3-D item

Advanced Club

-learn the newest technique

-use the newsest products

-make 2 cards and 1 3-D item

Coffee Club

-get together and stamp over morning coffee

-make 2 cards and 1 3-D item

Scrapbook Club

-learn about layout and color

-learn how to use scrapbooking tools

-make a 12x12 2page spreadpread

Clubs run from July '09-June '10. Each club member takes a turn as the hostess. We will meet once a month for a year depending on how many members in the club. If there are only 6 members the club will meet every other month for a year. You can host at your house or at my office at the shop. When it is your turn to host you invite the club plus your own guests. Each club member places a $30.00 order or more at each club workshop. If you can not attend you need to place your order by the day of the workshop. Each member gets the new catalog for free. Learn stamping techniques, purchase supplies, and create beautiful cards, gifts, and scrapbook pages at the same time! Contact me asap to join!

Dance Recital

Two of my girls are dancing in a Recital this Saturday at 12:00 and again at 4:00 at Portage High School. Tickets are $5 at the door. Grace is dance in 5 dances and Lily is in 1. It should be a great show, provided we all make it through the costume changes ;)

May Scrapbooking Class

Here are the 12x12 pages we will be making this month. This is for May but the class is on Monday June 1st at 6pm. It's $15 for the four pages. I have all of the pieces cut and you come and put your pages together. You then add the pictures later. Please let me know by Sunday May 31st if you plan on attending. Please bring your own adhesive or plan to buy some from me.

My oldest turned 10 over the weekend! We went to Texas Roadhouse (her favorite place to eat) and celebrated. We got her in the saddle too! The next 10 years will not be as easy with boys, high school, and driving! I am not ready to think about that yet.

Ok, so I didn't really go anywhere, I have just been busy with life and the end of the year field trips and other details with the kids! Stamp Camp is this coming Saturday the 16th at 10am and Monday the 18th at 6pm. I will post the cards so you can see what we will be doing. April Stamp Camp

Easter Eggs!

We have made it a tradition to dye eggs on Good Friday after church. Usually Aunt Stephanie helps out but she was busy this year. I told the kids to save me an egg and this is what I did with it! I used contact paper and the Big Shot. Kind of a pain peeling off the back of the contact paper! After I dyed the egg in the purple, I peeled off the letters and the dye made some of the sticky stick to the egg which I covered with glitter! It was a sparkly fix! Anyway, I spent most of the day cleaning up spills from Emily. I was also reminded that next year the baby Jesse will be able to "help" dye eggs. That makes a total of 10 hands covered in dye!

Cookie Dough Brownies

I made these Cookie Dough Brownies at my Open House and I have been asked for the recipe so here it is!

1c. (6oz) semisweet Chocolate Chips
1/2 c. butter or margarine, softened
1c. sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/4 c. flour
1/4 tsp. baking soda
Cookie Layer
1/2 c butter or margarine
1/2 c packed brown sugar
1/4 c sugar
3 Tbsp milk
1 tsp vanilla
1c. flour
1c. chocolate chips (I used half chocolate and half butterscotch chips)
Directions:
Melt chocolate chips in microwave and cool slightly. Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla; mix well. stir in melted chocolate. Combine flour and baking soda; add to batter. Spread into greased 13x9 pan. Bake at 350 for 16-22 mins.
In mixing bowl, cream butter and sugars. Beat in milk and vanilla. Gradually add flour. Stir in chocolate chips. Carefully spread over cooled brownies. Store in refrigerator. Cookie layer is not baked and does not contain eggs.

I haven't had much luck looking for Spring Decorations in the store so I decided to make some. I cut the letters out of thin wood with my Big Shot! I can't wait to show you all of the projects I have been making for my Open House. Have you RSVP to me yet?

Open House Sneak Peek

You should be getting your invitation in the mail to my Open House today. Here is a bag that I made using the Big Shot. I used the Embosslit Simple Flower from page 202 of the catalog. I have never used an Embosslit before. It is so cool because it cuts out the shape of the flower and embosses the petals all at the same time! If you are confussed don't worry I will be demonstrating this at my Open House. I also plan on showing all of the different types of dies for the Big Shot. Tomorrow I am going to attempt to do glass etching with the Big Shot. Stay tune.....

Card Journal Update

That's a lot of paper! I have a few extra packs of paper just incase someone still wants to make a card journal. Send me an email asap to save a spot in either Saturday or Monday's class. I can still fit more on Saturday but there is a ton of room for Monday. Saturday's class has 15 and 4 on Monday. Coming Saturday and want to switch to Monday? No problem, just let me know. Now I have to go cut all that paper!

Make this card journal on Saturday March 14th at 10 am or Monday March 16th at 6pm. It is $25 for the book and 24 cards. You make the book and cards out of 1 pack of Designer Series Paper. Please sign up for this class by Sunday March 8th by phone or email. You can find my contact info at the top. When signing up please let me know which pack of paper you would like to make your journal and cards out of. Please bring your own adhesive to this class. Scallop circle punch and circle punch would be very helpful. Please label what you bring for your own personal use.

I have no idea what I am doing but I am going to try! I am totally new to the blogging world so go easy on me! I am not going to make any promises as to how many times I am going to post. I may be slow going. The reason I choose the title Stamping in the Middle of Life is because it best describes how I stamp. My husband of 10 years and I have 5 children all under 9 and we are busy busy with life. I find little time between running to school, church, gymnastics, and dance to stamp. I have been an Independent Stampin'Up! Demonstrator for 7 years and no matter how busy life gets I can't seem to give up stamping. So, I am creating this blog to share my current projects and class schedule. I will also share my life interruptions, as they happen often with 5 little kids and many of them are quite funny. I was once told, "I would love to be fly on the wall at your house." This is as close as it gets!
